"England National and regional teams - more fake news"
From the Newsletter: "Almost 2 years ago, the WFA established the England mens National Walking Football teams for over 50s and over 60s..
This followed several meetings with the FA at which they confirmed that the FA had no intention of getting involved with the international aspects of the game. At these meetings, the FA also endorsed the WFA's International initiatives."
to reiterate the WFA Newsletter statement: 'the FA also endorsed'
International Walking Football - Clarification from The FA
"The Football Association (The FA) is aware of a recent communication produced by the Walking Football Association (WFA) that aims to clarify the status of England Walking Football Teams. Within this communication, the WFA asserts that The FA has endorsed the WFA to run “official” England Walking Football Teams."
"The FA has not provided any endorsement to any activities the WFA carries out and currently has no partnership or working relationship with the WFA. Further to this, The FA has not provided formal endorsement to any of the organisations that have been set up within this format of the game. The FA has no plans to deliver an international Walking Football provision and is instead focussing on supporting the growth of the grassroots game to ensure that even more people can experience the range of health and social benefits associated with regular physical activity. The FA has an exciting range of new walking football projects which will be announced in early 2020."
Without courting controversy, WFU need not make any form of statement in what seems blatantly obvious.
